Day 8 of our Utah adventure, and we are actually in Arizona. We have two full days to explore the south rim of the Grand Canyon, in Grand Canyon National Park. Our oldest son participated in a Junior Ranger program and earned his first Junior Ranger badge. We couldn't be more proud.
We got up at 4:30 to see the sun rise, hiked the majority of the south rim and had the company of mule deer on the campground day and night.
Park info: Unique combinations of geologic color and erosional forms decorate a
canyon that is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide,
and a mile (1.6km) deep. Grand Canyon overwhelms our senses through its
immense size.
Californian Condors soared overhead at the canyon rim.
